- Attend rehearsals and get yourself used to all the scenes, blockings, and performers. It’s especially important to you to remember the performers’ (or the characters’) face and features as you will have to follow one person for each cue.
- Help rigging on Get-in day
- Join the dress run before the real shows and get used to each cue timing. (Keep track of what scenes are going on and practice wherever you can).
- During the Show Days: Operate the following spot. The senior members or the technician would give you the instructions of how to operate the spot once you get into the greenwood, so don’t worry.
- Stage Manager would also cue you the same as boarder operator, but we highly recommend you to have your own laptop/script with the spot cue list on, and get ready for each cue by yourself. It is because Stage Manager can get really busy with all the cues, so they can sometimes forget to call the spot cues. Moreover, even though they cue you, they would only call the cue number (e.g. “Spot 3, Go”), not the detailed instructions like “follow the character A.” Therefore it would be best for you to remember most of the spot cues in advance; which song or scene has a spot cue, and who I need to follow.
