How do I pack up after a show?

When leaving the theatre, packing up the sound desk and mac are extremely simple. For the mac, simply save any files - especially the QLabs file - and logout of the browser, then use the apple button top left to turn off the PC. Turn off the monitor as well using the button, and move the keyboard and mouse back near the physical mac box to ensure they do not block the covers.

• If you are simply packing up after a tech day and will be back in the day after, you do not necessarily need to logout of your account on the browser.

For the sound desk, ensure all mics are muted on the desk and that no tracks or sound effects are currently playing before saving the show file. Once you have done this, locate the settings button at the top left of the rightmost screen, find the shutdown button, and press it. Wait for the desk to completely power off, showing only a power symbol on the middle screen, before turning the power button off from behind the desk.

From here, if there are any microphones, turn them off and take the batteries out of them before putting them back into their charging sockets in the top drawer. Place the microphones back in the second drawer in the correct order, and make sure they are all closed properly. Once all this is done, put the three wooden covers back on the desk safely, ensuring they are all locked in place securely. You can now leave the theatre.
